Welcome to my first edition of 10 Things I Love! Summer is NOT on the list of things I love, because I don’t love it….at least not Florida summers of which this hopefully the last. Next year, unless disaster strikes…again…we’ll be in Oregon enjoying a less sweaty summer. Anyway, here are the 10 things I love that are getting me through the next four months of hell.
1.
By far, one of the greatest inventions of all time. It’s my favorite.
2.
1/2 iced tea & 1/2 lemonade…a delightful concoction and you can add vodka if you like!
3.
Tis the season for amazing fruit.
4.
I prefer white sangria over red. I made a batch a few weeks ago and let me give you a tip…add a cinnamon stick and let it infuse for awhile. YUM! There are a zillion different recipes or you can just experiment with flavors like I did. The photo source link at the bottom will lead you to a bunch of tasty sangria recipes.
5.
My hometown of Sarasota, FL is home to the nations BEST beach….I mean look at that sand people! I love Siesta Beach and I try to get at least a glimpse of it whenever I’m home. I also frequent New Smyrna (which is closer to where I live) and that is a decent beach too. Yes, the beach is hot, but it makes sense to sweat there and you have the lovely water and breeze to cool you off. Beach and summer go hand in hand.

If my feet are hot, my everything is hot.

Let’s be real, pedicures with a best friend are the best any season,
BUT bright funtastic colors like this are super duper summery.

There is absolutely nothing nutritious about these suckers, but they are delish and freezing cold. I’m slightly obsessed and making up for all of those childhood years where my hippy mother wouldn’t let me have them. I loved visiting friends houses whose freezers were stocked with the Fla-Vor-Ice. :-)
10.
Go ahead and laugh, I don’t care! I am the proud owner of FIVE of these babies and my purse is never without one. I whip out my portable fan without even the slightest hint of embarrassment…it doesn’t matter where I am. I hate the heat that much.
